Guthrie, OK – March 12, 2009 After the recent tornados in our state, many of you may have donated items to help those affected by disaster. The Red Cross works to help those dealing with disaster and trying to prevent it all year round. According to Pam Williams, Executive Director of the Logan County Chapter of the American Red Cross, “We had a major response when the tornado hit our county. We helped 3 different families. We also canteened all the Southern Logan County areas that were hit, giving the people affected snacks, drinks, clean-up kits, comfort kits, shovels, rakes and gloves. Since November, we have had 10 single family house fires that we have helped people recover from which amounted to over $11,000 within a few months time.
