Support Logan County Chapter of American Red Cross by Dining Out on Thursday, March 19

Guthrie, OK – March 12, 2009 After the recent tornados in our state, many of you may have donated items to help those affected by disaster. The Red Cross works to help those dealing with disaster and trying to prevent it all year round. According to Pam Williams, Executive Director of the Logan County Chapter of the American Red Cross, “We had a major response when the tornado hit our county. We helped 3 different families. We also canteened all the Southern Logan County areas that were hit, giving the people affected snacks, drinks, clean-up kits, comfort kits, shovels, rakes and gloves. Since November, we have had 10 single family house fires that we have helped people recover from which amounted to over $11,000 within a few months time. We must replace those funds before the next disaster strikes.” This Thursday, March 19, you can help the Logan County Chapter of the American Red Cross just by dining at Hastings Steakhouse in Guthrie, OK.

American Red Cross is the only humanitarian organization with a Congressional charter to provide relief to victims of disasters and to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization. Today, in addition to domestic disaster relief, the American Red Cross offers compassionate services in other areas including community services that help the needy; support and comfort for military members and their families; the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products; educational programs that promote health and safety; and international relief and development programs.

For those of you who have been to a previous Charity Night at Hastings Steakhouse, you know that each Thursday you can enjoy an amazing meal in casual elegance while knowing that you are helping a great local cause. This Thursday is dedicated to The Logan County Chapter of the American Red Cross. An average of 91 cents of every dollar the Red Cross spends is invested in humanitarian services and programs. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it relies on donations of time, money, and blood to do its work. Please come to Hastings Steakhouse located at 312 W. Oklahoma, and help the Logan Country Chapter of the American Red Cross on Thursday, March 19, from 5pm until 9pm. Diners will also be able to participate in a silent auction of a Two Person Emergency Preparedness Pack valued at $50.
