First Capitol Neighborhood Solutions Foundation Honored at Charity Night on Thursday, March 12

Guthrie, OK – March 6, 2009 First Capitol Neighborhood Solutions Foundation (FCNS) was created to find creative solutions to encourage neighborhood revitalization in Oklahoma’s first capitol. They will be honored on March 12 from 5pm to 9pm at Hastings Steakhouse in Guthrie, OK.

During this time of economic recession, many neighborhoods suffer from problems ranging from aesthetics and repairs to crimes involving theft and drugs. Fortunately, FCNS was created in 2008 to help our community combat these problems and do much more! FCNS holds workshops covering topics such as neighborhood beautification projects, grant writing, and identifying meth labs. The FCNS can help with safety issues by helping to start neighborhood watch associations.

If you are a Guthrie resident, you may have read about FCNS or some of their projects in the insert included in your city water bill. Their office is inside of the City Building on 2nd St. Stories have featured beautification projects that included painting a neighbor’s house and FCNS being accepted as a recipient of OU’s Big Event. The Big Event will help with landscaping in front of the Guthrie Public Library.

If you would like to support FCNS or to find out more about this non-profit, please come by Hastings Steakhouse located at 312 W. Oklahoma, on Thursday, March 12. If you aren’t able to come by this Thursday, stop by each and every Thursday to enjoy a great dinner while supporting other great causes.
